Now that is some serious CHURCH! Not many cathedrals in my neck of the woods. Unless you count St. Andrews in LeRoy, which does bill itself as "Cathedral of the Marsh". I've heard of Mt. Auburn, it was the first of the "garden cemeteries" which grew out of the new concept that death was not to be feared. Cemeteries began to built out of town and were landscaped to be places people would go to for a Sunday drive.

You are quite right. Mt. Auburn was one of the first garden cemeteries. There is also Forest Hills cemetery which is just as beautiful. Forest Hills Cemetery was designed so that you could not see any graves upon entering through the main gate. The reasoning was you never know when to expect death... it may lie right around the corner. :) :blackrose:

Your welcome:)
